Like many of you, I watched the video today of the death of George Floyd at the hands of a police officer. I found it to be incredibly disturbing and it left me wondering how a human being made in God's image can end up dead after being arrested on suspicion of check forgery! How does this happen? Perhaps there will be some kind of information that comes forward later than can explain the incident, but right now, I can't imagine what kind of information would make something like this OK! That being said, incidents like this that leave so many reeling--family, friends and an entire people group--deserve more than a cursory Facebook post. I don't often deviate from a schedule, but this Sunday I have decided to address in the sermon, a Christian, Biblical response to an event like this.
